Spelling - We begin Lesson 4 - Plurals s, es.
Please remember that they are to write each spelling word 3 times each and turn this in on Tuesday. Spelling workbook pages are due on Thursday. The pretest is also Thursday.
Reading - The story for this week is a biography called "Ellen Ochoa: Astronaut" The focus skills are locating information, using a dictionary, and plural endings -es, -s. As always, the workbook pages for each lesson should be completed by Thursday. We will continue to have vocabulary tests on Thursday. Make sure your child is studying the words in their GREEN notebook.
Math - As we begin Chapter 2, please continue to practice Math addition facts as often as you can at home. Concepts we will be looking at this week are: adding 3 numbers, regrouping in addition, addition patterns, and adding whole numbers.
Social Studies - We will begin Chapter 2 today 'Kinds of Communities' Bridgewater, Virginia (rural community) Levittown, New York (suburban community) Chicago, Illinois (urban community).
** The directions for the Social Studies project were sent home last week. Please email me if you have any questions. Students are allowed to work by themselves or in a group of 2-3. The project is due October 2.
Science - We will be observing the different parts of an egg! Ask your child about the exciting time they had in Science today!
English - Quiz today in Miss Binder's room on subjects & predicates and compound sentences.
