January 11-15

Happy Monday to all!

Second quarter will end this Friday. Please be sure to turn in any missing or late assignments by Friday. Report cards will go home next Friday, Jan.22.

Math
In math, we have been working on multiplication word problems and multiplication facts. This week the students will begin working on division. Practicing multiplication facts at home will help students as we begin practicing division.

Reading and Spelling
This week the students will be on Lesson 15 in Reading and Spelling. This is a review lesson of the previous lessons 11-14 (Theme 3). The students will not be having a vocabulary quiz Thursday, to give more time to study previous vocabulary for the Theme 3 Test on Friday.

Writing
The Third Graders have been learning about Martin Luther King Jr. in class. This week we will be discussing Dr. King's dream and the dreams the students have for their futures. In class this week they will be writing 3 paragraphs explaining Dr. King's dream, their dreams for the future, and how attending St. Joseph School will help them achieve their dreams. These creative writings will be up for display at the end of the month for Open House.
