Reading - The third graders will be reading a realistic fiction story this week. We will continue working on alphabetical order, characters and setting in a story. There will also be focus on writing command and exclamation sentences correctly.
**Remember to work on book reports. Due September 14**
Spelling - This week's spelling words will all contain -ed or -ing endings. There will also be focus on identifying root words.
Math - In math we will work on rounding 2- and 3- digit numbers, practice finding sums mentally, and explore different strategies to add more than 2 addends and 3-digit numbers.
Religion - This week we will finish up Chapter 1 about God's Creation in our Religion books. The students will have a test on Ch.1 this week.
Social Studies - In Social Studies we will focus on other world communities that are outside of our country. The students will learn how cultures are different in other communities around the world. The 3rd graders will have a test on Ch.1 next Thursday.
Science - The 3rd graders will finish up Chapter 1 this week in Science. They will have their first Science test on Ch.1 next Wednesday.
