Oct.17-21

Reading - This week the 3rd graders will read the historical nonfiction story "The Babe and I" in Lesson 6 in the Storytown book. They will work on identifying facts vs. opinions, synonyms, antonyms, and writing compound sentences. 

* The next book report is Due Wed. Oct.26 *

Spelling - The lesson 6 spelling words this week will all be compound words. 

Math - We will be finishing Chapter 2 on graphs and interpreting data this week. The 3rd graders have also been spending some extra time in math working on subtraction with regrouping. 

Religion - This week we will begin Chapter 4 about the Holy Trinity and the importance of a Creed. 

Science - The Ch.2 Science test will be next Monday Oct.24. The students will work on reviewing Ch.2 about animal life cycles in class this week. 

Social Studies - The Communities Project is due Thursday Oct.20. The students will also have a Test on Ch.2 Thursday. This week the 3rd graders will work on reviewing the three different types of communities in class.
