The next two weeks will be a little different with the extra days off for the teacher institutes and the holiday.
Reading - The 3rd graders will be reviewing skills learned in Lesson 1-4 this week. The vocabulary quiz will be next Wednesday (10/12). The Theme 1 Reading test, covering lessons 1-4, will be next Thursday (10/13). The Theme 1 Reading Test will cover past vocabulary words, alphabetical order, locating information in a book, using a dictionary, characters, and setting.
Spelling - The students will be working on Lesson 5 in spelling this week. This is also a review lesson of words learned in lessons 1-4. The Lesson 5 spelling test will be next Thursday (10/13).
Math - We will begin Chapter 2 this week on graphs and charts in the Go Math textbooks.
Religion - The students will continue in Chapter 3 about how families teach love. They will also practice praying the rosary in class. The Chapter 3 Religion test will be next week.
Science - In Science the 3rd graders will continue learning about the life cycles of animals. They will learn to distinguish between the life cycles of frogs and fish this week.
Social Studies - The students will continue learning about urban communities this week. On Wednesday the 3rd graders will begin working on a communities project in class. A handout with further information will be given to the students on Wednesday. We will work on most of the project in class over the next two weeks, however some research or decorating may need to be finished outside of class. The Communities Project will be Due Thursday October 20.
