Reading - In class we will be reading the expository non-fiction story, A Tree is Growing from Lesson 13. We will practice identifying the author’s purpose, work on using graphic aids and reference sources to help with comprehension, identify and use subject and object pronouns in writing. The Lesson 13 Reading test focusing on identifying author's purpose will be next Monday Dec.19. The Lesson 13 Vocabulary quiz will be Friday this week.
Spelling - The Lesson 13 spelling words will contain words with the soft g and soft c sound. The Lesson 13 Spelling test will be next Monday Dec.19.
Math - The Ch.4 math test on multiplication will be this Tuesday. We will begin Chapter 5 this week on using multiplication facts. It would be a good idea to keep practicing multiplication facts at home.
Religion - Don't forget to bring in extra mittens or gloves to donate. The Mitten collection will end this Friday Dec.16.
Social Studies- The students will be finishing up their Christmas Around the World Project this week in Social Studies. The students are more than welcome to continue researching and working on their project at home. They may look up facts and traditions using the websites found in the Social Studies tab on this blog. This project is Due Monday Dec.19
Science - In science class this week the 3rd graders will work on reviewing Unit A Ch.4 in class.
