Spelling - The lesson 17 spelling words this week will focus on the /ur/ sound spelled with: er, ir, ur, or, and ear.
Reading - For lesson 17 the students will be reading the play "Two Bear Cubs" in their Storytown book. In class we will practice Lesson 17 vocabulary words, practice using a Venn diagram to compare and contrast, work on identifying prefixes and suffixes, practice identifying and using adjectives that compare. The next book report is due Friday Feb.3.
Math - This week in math we will continue working in Chapter 6 on division. Please continue to work on multiplication facts at home. The students could also begin working on division facts at home.
Religion - In class we will continue to focus on that Jesus taught about God's Kingdom of love, peace and justice that in in Heaven. We will continue to discuss that Jesus established the Kingdom of God on Earth, and His teaching and miracles were signs of the Kingdom.
Social Studies - The 3rd graders will finish and review Chapter 3 in their Social Studies text this week. The test on Chapter 3 will be next Tuesday Jan.31.
Science - The students will finish and review Unit C Ch.1 this week in class. The Ch.1 test will be next Monday Jan.30.
