This week in 3rd grade....
Reading - The students will read a historical fiction story, practice lesson 18 vocabulary words, practice identifying the theme and plot of a story, use context clues to find the meanings of unknown words, identify and use articles in sentences. The lesson 18 Test on Friday will cover identifying the theme and plot of a story. The next book report is due Friday.
Spelling - The spelling words this week will all contain the suffixes er, est, ly, and ful.
Math - In class we will be finishing Chapter 6 this week on division. The Ch.6 Math test will be on Friday. This test will cover what the students have learned about division so far.
Religion - The 3rd graders finished Ch.7 this week. Miss Martinez's class will have the Ch.7 Religion test on Wednesday.
Social Studies - The students will have the Ch.3 Social Studies test on Tuesday.
Science - In science class the 3rd graders will begin working on Unit C Ch.2. They will identify different kinds of rocks and discover how fossils and fossil fuels form.
