Spelling - The Lesson 22 spelling words this week will focus on words spelled with: au(gh), aw, a(l), and ough.
Reading - This week in reading we will continue to focus on identifying the sequence of events in a story. We will read an informational narrative (Bat Loves the Night), practice lesson 22 vocabulary words, identify the sequence in stories, use main and helping verbs correctly in sentences, and practice identifying the author’s message of a story. The final copy of the President writing is due Thursday.
Math - In math this week we will be working on fractions in Chapter 8. The students were given a second math book to use for the rest of the school year. The old math book may be kept at home.
Religion - The students will finish Chapter 9 this week in their religion book. The Ch.9 Test will be on Thursday. In class we will begin discussing Ash Wednesday and the importance of the season of Lent.
Science - In Science the 3rd graders will begin Chapter 3 about the solar system. They will begin to identify planets of the solar system.
Social Studies - This week the 3rd graders will begin Chapter 6 on different types of communities and how the natural resources are used around these communities.
